Two Ford dealers, known for their longtime involvement in drag racing, are using the power of the internet to showcase the latest gem on their lot. Downs Ford in Toms River, NJ and Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor Michigan have posted images of their 2010 Cobra Jets and one dealer has two of the rare 2010 units still up for sale.
The Super Cobra Jet at Downs Ford featured a Liberty 5 speed and Super Cobra Jet Engine package, legal for NHRA Super Stock action. According to a post over on www.classracer.com, Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor, MI has 11 cars ordered for customers and two are currently for sale. Last year Varsity held a Cobra Jet party for many of its customers and Varsity’s Matt Stanford campaigned a 2008 Cobra Jet in NMRA’s Super Stang class. He even scored a runner up Super Stang class finish at the Milan NMRA event . While many manufacturers talk about halo cars, a line-up of four 9 second capable factory built mustangs is the ultimate statement of performance in our book.
