A few weeks ago, we covered the newest edition to Bad9er Racing, the new screw-supercharged Chevrolet Corvette built in the Xtreme Race Cars shop in New Jersey. As of Tuesday evening, the team is loaded and southbound through the frigid temperatures and snow flakes pounding the eastern side of the United States right now on their way to Georgia.
In talks with Kyle Huettel today, he is his usual pumped-up and excited self about the new car. He spoke very highly of the craftsmanship and attention to detail by Carl Stevens, Jr. and the entire Xtreme Race Cars team on the new ride. Huettel and Michalak will now field two Chevrolet C6 Corvettes out of the Bad9er camp — both in flat black and both with huffing screw blowers bellowing out of the hoods.
Michalak wheeled the deal at the end of the 2015 campaign to oust the competition and stand on top of the Radial vs the World/Pro Drag Radial mountain with a mind-numbing 3.87-second shot at Northstar Dragway in Texas last November. With the new XRC chassis and engine designed by super tuners Billy Stocklin and Frankie Taylor, Huettel’s new bullet could be just as fast as the current one.

After loading up in snowy New Jersey, the crew is carefully rolling southbound to SGMP to try their hand at $50,000 to Win!
But the big question looming over the Texas based team — what happens with no testing? When the car rolls through the gates at South Georgia Motorsports Park for Lights Out 7 this weekend, it will literally be the first time it has touched a racing surface.
Huettel and company will definitely be one to watch over the coming days as our live coverage team is on the grounds covering all the action as it happens.
Stocklin and company have a year’s worth of data at their disposal from Michalak’s record-holding machine, and don’t be surprised to see the team dive in the archives and pull some old tune-ups to try and shake the car down as much as possible in pre-race testing. Be sure to stay glued to Dragzine.com and our live coverage of the largest payout in radial to date, Lights Out 7 at SGMP!
