El General Racing has been quietly sneaking up on some new and improved ideas and parts rolling into the 2016 PDRA Pro Extreme season. Car owner Jose Gonzalez has enlisted some of the top names in the sport to help take his Jerry Bickel Race Cars-built C7 Corvette from wild to even wilder. Featuring a bright new orange paint scheme for 2016, Gonzalez is out to prove that the twin turbocharged combinations can run with the screw-blown monsters that dominate the Pro Extreme class.
With Jose living out of the country, testing in the past has been an issue holding the El General team back from trying new things and gaining the testing data they need. Well, after some talking with good friends among Team Pro Line, that problem has been solved. Enter 2015 PDRA Pro Boost champion and all-around drag racing wheelman, Kevin Fiscus.
Having competed in radial tire racing for years and spending time in a Pro Modified car of his own for the past few seasons, Fiscus felt right at home in the turbocharged bad boy that Gonzalez has assembled.

Earlier this week the team trekked to the freshly renovated GALOT Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina, for a private test session with other Pro Modified entries to prepare for the second stop on the competitive PDRA schedule.
Assisting Fiscus with the C7 was none other than turbo tuning wizard Steve Petty from Pro Line Racing. Under the carbon fiber panels, this C7 is packing a PLR HEMI with twin Precision turbochargers and a FuelTech FT500 engine management system keeping all the moving parts in check. After a few shakedown runs to get Kevin more comfortable in the car, they turned it loose to the tune of a 3.566-second blast at 230 miles per hour to end the day on Monday.
Coming back around on Tuesday, Petty tickled the tune-up just a little more and picked up a few numbers in the middle of the track, knocking off a 3.540-second shot at a blistering 231.44 miles per hour, unofficially the fastest pass ever recorded in the 1/8-mile by a full-bodied car. Rolling to PDRA Rockingham this weekend, the El General C7 Corvette will definitely be one to watch in the quickest and fastest class with doors in all of drag racing, NAS Racing Pro Extreme.
