Nestled in the heart of northern Alabama, Huntsville Dragway played host to the second of three DragRaceResults.com Ultimate Series, presented by: American Race Cars this past weekend. With over $100,000 in purse money on the line, the best in bracket racing showed up in droves to take their shot at the cash. After the loss of the Brodix $25K in March due to weather, the event was carried over to July and held on Thursday. Ron Lane was able to take the postponed event victory with a .004 package, and picked up a cool $25,000 payday to kick off the weekend.
As the Brodix $25K kicked off on Friday, over 160 entries filled the staging lanes at the famed Huntsville Dragway to see who could reign supreme. When the sun set on Friday’s festivities, Alabama native Jeff Strickland took the automatic win in his SignPunk.com sponsored dragster over a red-lighting Thomas Bell.
Saturday brought the main event of the DRR Ultimate Series with $50,000 up for grabs from Oakley Motorsports Competition Engines. With the big money on the table Saturday several big name racers were upset early, while others lasted until the later rounds. As the final pair rolled into the water box, it was Gary May in the door-slammer, against Mikey Bloomfield Jr. in his dragster. When the lights fell, May turned on the dreaded red bulb by .007, handing the automatic victory, and the Oakley Motorsports $50K to Bloomfield in his dragster.

Bogacki’s K&N dragster has found the winner’s circle alot 2016, claiming another title during Yukon Gear & Axle Sunday.
Yukon Gear and Axle Sunday brought yet another $25,000 in price money to wrap up the weekend, and as eliminations kicked off the facility began to slowly empty as the defeated went home. None other than ThisIsBracketRacing.com founder “Cool Hand” Luke Bogacki stood tall once again, grabbing his third $25,000 victory of the 2016 season so far, including his second at the DRR Ultimate Series.
Bogacki wheeled his K&N Filters sponsored American Race Cars dragster to the winner’s circle, defeating a red-lighting Cassie Pennington in her dragster in the last final round of the weekend. Bogacki came into the July edition of the series leading the points, and with a strong weekend it appears he will carry the points lead into the final DRR Ultimate Series event in October.
