Grudge racing brings a level of excitement and electricity to drag racing that makes any matchup feel like the finals at a huge event. Fans feed off that energy, while racers love the all-out mindset it offers. During the Primetime with No Medication grudge event at the South Carolina Motorplex, Christopher Waters laid it all on the line to try and win even when the Mustang he drives for Sage Carson and Randall Griffith went into a massive wheelstand that led to a meeting with the wall.
The Primetime with No Medication race attracted many of the top racers in the grudge game with several different shootouts that had nice pots and plenty of side grudge action. Bringing that many fast racers to one place led to close competition and big risks being taken.
Carson and Waters brought the LSX-powered Mustang that feeds on a healthy hit of nitrous to this gathering of grudge greatness to get some races and wins. In his matchup with another nitrous-huffing Mustang, Waters’ car immediately lifted the wheels at the hit and kept climbing toward the sky. Even as Waters rocketed down the track, the nose of his Mustang kept climbing past the half-track mark, where it eventually went up on the bumper, and that’s when things got a little wild.
Even after Waters set the car down fairly gently for such a big wheelstand, it upset the suspension enough to throw the car sideways. The car eventually made a hard turn to the left and made contact with the wall, but it could have been much worse.
