Video: Titan Motorsports IRS Supra Tops 200 MPH

The 2013 drag racing season is still young, but records are already falling.

Titan Motorsports has been at the forefront of import drag racing since the late 1990’s, and their copper Toyota Supra has set multiple records and been featured in magazines and all over the internet. Team Titan came out in 2013 swinging becoming the world’s fastest independent rear suspension Supra, and they’ve already broken down some walls this winter.

[1]Making any car go 200 mph in the quarter mile is impressive, but doing it with an inline-six is amazing, but that’s exactly what Titan has done. Titan uses one of their proven full-built race motors to motivate the car down the 1320, featuring a Titan Motorsports-prepared race head and fuel system topping off the monster mill.  The car still uses an air-to-air intercooler setup to help feed the car nicely chilled air, and the Supra runs on C16 race gas supplied by VP Racing Fuels. A factory-configured IRS suspension still resides outback for the 200 mph passes.

This record did not come easy for the team at Titan Motorsports. A few years ago at the Texas Supra meet, the copper Supra was a victim of an on-track accident and the car went through a rebuild and refresh to get it ready for battle again. Now the car is running right, getting down the track, and setting records again.

The video from Nyce1s.com does a great job showing how much work goes into making this pass as Titan set the record at Bradenton Motorsports Park in their home state of Florida. The slip broke down to a 1.243 60’, 4.81 1/8th mile, and a quarter mile of 7.29 at 201.
