Justin Smith has been in the headlines all week after blasting to a new X275 national record at Maryland International Raceway last weekend at 4.85 seconds, and if that performance that broke some hearts in the field impressed you, even greater things may be just around the corner with the debut of a brand new fourth-gen Camaro that recently rolled out of Bob Gianelli’s NRC Motorsports shop in Aiken, S.C.
In a departure from the nitrous-aided combination that propelled Smith and his current Camaro to the new performance benchmark, the new ride will feature power from a GM LS-based powerplant fed by a single intercooled ProCharger setup; thus joining the supercharger camp with the likes of multi-time champ Chris Evans. The small block bullet, built by Blanks Performance, sports an intake and cylinder heads from All Pro
While continuing to run at or near the front of the pack with the tried-and-true nitrous car, the new Camaro has been disassembled and painted – although no word on the color scheme just yet – with plans of a debut later this fall or at South Georgia next February.
