The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 isn’t your average soccer mom-mobile. Add twin turbos and you’re talking about a real street beast, like this Jeep running 9′s in the 1/4 mile. Ya, a Jeep that is faster than your Corvette. Who’d have thought?

Drag racing can be a dangerous sport if you don’t know what you’re doing. Lucky for Vic Hernandez, he knew what he was doing, and managed to make a miraculous save when his ‘Vette veered off course and looked to be headed for certain disaster.

Ford Racing has confirmed that a 2013 Cobra Jet Mustang is in the works. The big news though is that for the new 5.0 V8 engine will be a new engine option for the 2013 Cobra Jet.

“This sucker’s electrical?” Marty McFly asked Doc Brown. True to Hollywood, the DeLorean Motor Company is bringing the DMC-12 back into production…as an electric car. So if you’re a Back to the Future fan and EV enthusiast with $100,000 lying around….

The BOSS 302 Laguna Seca is built and bred for the road course, but with a supercharger and a set of drag slicks, it turns out that it is a great drag racing car too, as this video from Hennessey Performance Engineering demonstrates.

They don’t make a lot of furniture with auto enthusiasts in mind; so people had to get creative. Check out this collection of awesome furniture finds with the gearhead in mind.

Blow By Racing’s 2011 5.0 Mustang recently went to the KOTS competition, where it made over 950 horsepower to the wheels…possibly making it the most powerful Coyote 5.0 Mustang in the world right now.

It was a big weekend for Aeromotive’s racing team. Aeromotive President Steve Matusek set a MPH record and the first ever 250 mph pass in NMCA history, while Chris Rini became the first NMCA racer into the 5′s.

Most drag racers from the golden age of muscle cars were crushed and dismantled long ago. But a few have survived…and they are worth big money, like this Holman Moody A/FX ’65 Mustang powered by a SOHC Cammer V8.

Is couch racing the latest frontier in motorsports? Maybe. An Aussie shop has put together a couch that can claim the title as the world’s fastest couch, going 101 mph. Yes, a 101 mph couch. And to top it off, they decided to drag race against a Holden Ute.

It costs a lot of money to go fast, but you better make sure that you invest in some good seats in addition to that powerful engine. Otherwise, this might happen to you.

Which is faster? A mildly-modded Mustang GT, or a similarly modded BOSS 302 Mustang? American Muscle hit the track to find out in this video.

This video is a must watch if you’ve never seen a Camaro dragster literally rip its own rear end out at the drag strip. Yeah. It’s that good.

The 2012 Mustang GT is amazing, as is the 5.0 liter V8. Edelbrock’s E-Force supercharger makes it even better, as Brenspeed shows in this video of a supercharged 5.0 going 10′s with just a few supporting mods.

Illegal street racing isn’t just a crime, it is damn dangerous. Even for the Swedes, who seem to have it down to a science, as this video shows. Their big illegal street race came down to two powerful Camaros, and as cool as it is, it’s still a crime.

The old Cobra “Terminators” are stout cars with their stock superchargers…but even badder with twin-turbos. We found this dyno video of a twin-turbo Cobra making nearly 935 horsepower at the wheels! That’s one bad snake.

ATI Racing is the leader in harmonic damper technology, and their vibration-absorbing devices can be found everywhere, from NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series to the local drag strip. They took us on a tour of their Baltimore facilities to give us an inside look of what it takes to build these oft-overlooked parts.

The Super Mustang was the first Mustang funny car ever built, and the saga of its loss, re-discovery, and restoration is one for the books. But now that its caretaker has passed on, it is time for the Super Mustang to find a new, equally-devoted owner.

Electric cars are supposed to be slow, right? Not according to Ron Adamowicz, whose 100% electric ’81 Chevy Camaro just crossed the 1/4 mile in almost 10 seconds flat. That’s freakin’ fast by any measurement, but it’s only the start for this EV hot rod.

Is a supercharged Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 faster than a Nissan GT-R with 550 horsepower? Tune in to this video to find out, but be warned; this race is far closer than it really should be.

In the Ford engine family, there is no equal to the 427 Cammer, especially when you strap a supercharger to it. But is such a motor really worth $68,000? And if you could buy it, what would you put this engine into? We were thinking it’d make a nice coffee table…

A legend is for sale. The supercharged 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 from Evolution Performance was the first of its kind to set all kinds of records, including going a best of 8.89 at 147.86 MPH. It’s a legend in its own time, and is for sale for just $59,900.

The original Shelby Cobra still inspires kit cars today. But is it time for a new Cobra? If so, what would it look like? Perhaps something like this awesome Cobra Snakehead concept car.

The 2004 Mustang Cobra came from the factory with a supercharged V8 but for some people, 500 horsepower isn’t enough. Turbochargers are all the rage these days, and this video shows a 1,500 horsepower Cobra on the dyno features two huge 82mm units.

The ’75 Dodge Dart was not a fast car by any stretch of the imagination, so swapping in just about any engine is an improvement, even a turbocharged four-cylinder Mitsubishi motor. Especially when that little engine makes enough power to haul this huge American “compact” to a ten-second quarter mile.

We recently ran our Dart-built dyno mule 440 cubic inch small block Chevy with both a hydraulic and solid roller camshaft system. Both cams made big power, but only one can be crowned camshaft champion.

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Ford’s Excalibur Mustang project was a 10-second monster, but it has not seen the strip in over a decade. Johnny Hunkins is rebuilding this classic project car as a modern day muscle machine.

Our friends at SCT Performance recently released a video on flash tuning basics. This isn’t a video that goes into deep theory on the functionality of flash tuning, rather than about the bare fundamentals of how it works. Inside, we will give you a brief overview and then you can watch the video for more.

Ever wanted to own a 7-second door slammer? This may be your chance, as up on eBay we found this awesome nitrous-injected 632 big block powered 1988 Ford Mustang drag car. And it only costs $75,000! Pretty fair price if you ask us.

The Ford Drag Team from 1969-70 featured some of the fastest cars and biggest names in racing. Now, one of the unrestored original Mustang Mach 1 Super Stockers from that era has hit eBay for $300,000.

When we refer to a monster Mustang, that must mean it is fast, right? Well in this case, we literally mean a monster, as in the kind that gobbles up little children. Ok, maybe not that extreme…but look at the teeth!

At what point does a lot of horsepower become an “INSANE” amount of horsepower? We’d say right at the 1,000 HP threshold. This Nelson Racing Engine LSx 454 makes over 1,800 horsepower on race gas. Yeah, that’s pretty insane…

The 427 SOHC Cammer engine was a very special motor. It is so special that any car it graces automatically skyrockets in value. While this 1965 Mustang with a 427 Cammer may not be all original, it is a car with a documented racing history that deserves to be on the drag strip again.

If you’re one of the lucky few who own a Cobra Jet Mustang, and you’re not racing it, well, you’re doing it wrong. But that’s OK, because the NMCA is holding a Cobra Jet Showdown just for you CJ owners. You don’t have an excuse not to, right?

If you’ve been itching to see the newest Mustang Cobra Jet in action, we you’re in luck. Carl Tasca posted up this video of his 2010 Cobra Jet at the drag strip, and it doesn’t disappoint.

The 1981 Camaro may not seem like the perfect platform for an electric car conversion, but if you have drag racing in mind, well, it’s pretty much perfect. Ron Adamowicz of East Coast Electric Drag Racing Association took his ’81 Camaro to Palm Beach Raceway and ran an 11.25 @ 107 mph…with a motor malfunction.

Electric cars are supposed to be slow, right? And that must go doubly slow for electric VW Beetles. But at least one EV Beetle, “Black Current,” is shattering expectations and setting drag racing records as the world’s fastest street-bodied EV dragster.

Ford threw a party at its factory to celebrate the 2012 Cobra Jet, and we are excited to hear that Ford claims this is the fastest accelerating production car ever. Awesomesauce.

Hood scoops are as integral to muscle car culture as a good sounding exhaust. But is this latest Mustang test mule’s oversized hood scoop too much of a good thing?
