In what has become an annual tradition for the renowned torque converter manufacturer, Joe Rivera and his team at ProTorque have created and finalized yet another “Team ProTorque” poster, featuring all of the champions, race winners, and world record setters that rely on their converters, covering virtually every corner of the heads-up drag racing world.
This years poster is headlined by some of the most standout competitors in the sport during the 2014 season, including Larry Larson and his twin-turbo pickup, which made history with the first five-second run by a street legal vehicle, along with fellow Drag Week runner Jeff Lutz, who captured the Unlimited class crown with his ’57 Chevrolet with a PoTorque converter onboard. Keith Berry is also front and center with his record-setting, NMCA Radial Wars championship-winning Corvette, as is Mo Hall, who powered his Outlaw 10.5 Camaro to a nitrous world record and the Cecil County Dragway season title.
The other names, of course, are a who’s-who of heads-up drag racing, from NHRA Pro Mod racers Don Walsh and Kevin Fiscus, to Outlaw 10.5 hitters Dave Hance, Steve Gorman, Nick Agostino, and Joe Newsham, radial racers DeWayne Mills, Kevin Mullins, and Roger Holder, and even Street Outlaw stars Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington and Justin “Big /chief” Shearer.
“This poster has really become a “labor of love” for everyone involved over here at ProTorque,” said Rivera. “We are so honored and humbled to work with so many great cars and great people. It has turned into something that we would never could’ve imagined and has become extremely popular with the racers and fans.
“We truly wish that all of our racers could make the list but that poster would be six pages long. Whatever the criteria, it is truly an honor to work with all of these racers as well as with all of our customers, and we’re thankful to be a small part of all of these racing programs. We’re look forward to an even more exciting 2015 poster.”
