Hot Rod has revealed the schedule for the 13th edition of its one-of-a-kind drag racing expedition known as Drag Week, featuring four midwestern venues familiar to longtime competitors of the highly popular event.

Northwestern Illinois’ Cordova International Raceway, located just a stones throw from the Illinois/Iowa border, will serve as ground zero for the 2017 running of Drag Week, including the test-and-tune site and both the beginning and ending point on the five-day tour. The event will kick off on September 11 at Cordova, and over the course of the week, will visit just two states — Illinois and Wisconsin.

On Tuesday, September 12, the procession will visit another popular Illinois facility, the Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, before trekking back north to the Byron Dragway in the town of Byron, Illinois on Wednesday, September 13. The next stop will take the upwards of 400 racers across the Wisconsin state line to the Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, before traversing back to Cordova for the finale on September 15.

Will this be the year that the five-second run in competition finally happens? That will certainly be one of the headlining topics as Drag Week draws near, and we know there’s been some talk of racers aiming to make it happen this time around.
