We don’t know the provenance of this car, but it’s a shame to see it up for auction. Vanishing Point Race Cars (when they were in business) built a heck of a racecar, and many of their best builds are still on-track today. Unfortunately for the former owner of this piece, when you run afoul of the law bad things end up happening to you, up to and including the seizure of your personal property. If we had to guess, the previous owner of this machine had one main problem – he got involved in some sort of illicit activity, then got caught in the process of committing said activity by law enforcement. We don’t want to assume anything – all we know is that the car’s up for sale for a starting bid of 25 large, plus a buyer’s premium of 12.5 percent on top of that. 

The market on used racecars is not nearly what it was just five short years ago, we don’t know whether the car will ever bring the starting bid – let alone more than that – but if you’re in the market for a car like this it’s worth checking out. A 25.1E car is a decent base for many different racing classes and this one appears to have been semi-well-maintained throughout its life. We do see some spots that could definitely use work and it’s gonna need a carburetor, but most of the car appears to be there. And hey – it’s got an AFCO Racing radiator – it’s gotta be a good piece, right? The ad doesn’t provide much information about the car other than what we’ve told you here, so you’re going to have to head to Berkley County, South Carolina to check it out.
