You’ve gotta’ appreciate brutal honesty.
George Bryce, the decorated crew chief, team owner, and founder of Star Racing has never been one to hold in his thoughts, as evidenced by his war of words last season with the Vance & Hines Pro Stock Motorcycle team in regards to his perceived unfairness of the rules allowed to their Harley Davidson V-Twin engine program.
During his career, Bryce has worked with some of the finest riders to ever don a set of leathers, including the late John Myers, Angelle Sampey, Reggie Showers, Chip Ellis, and others. In doing so, Star Racing has amassed six NHRA championships, 78 national event wins, and 149 final round appearances. Simply put, you can’t have a conversation about Pro Stock Motorcycle racing without mentioning Star Racing. Despite his accomplishments, Bryce has been absent from full-time competition in the class for some years, and amidst voicing his opinion last season, indicated no desire to return to the NHRA until things (read: parity in the rules) changed. But in a post on Facebook on Wednesday, Bryce indicated just what it would take from a potential rider to get his red and yellow bikes back on the racetrack. And he certainly held nothing back. Read on for the full checklist.
