Electronic devices inside racecars have come a long way in their ability to perform complex tasks, whether it’s an ignition box, a traction control device, or power adder controller. Steve Johnson and his company, Induction Solutions, has been an industry leader in the nitrous oxide world for a decade, and has recently developed and unveiled a new product that could be game changer.
The NPC-2006 Nitrous Power Commander is a progressive nitrous controller, with many great features that will help any racer get their giggle juice flowing right. There’s a large need now for power management devices, with the rise in popularity of radial tire, grudge, and no prep racing. These classes are putting hefty amounts of power down to a small tire, and on a surface that sometimes has little, or no prep on it at all, being able to put power down in an accurate manner is a must. A nitrous controller like the NPC-2006 allows a racer to bring the nitrous and fuel in as they need it, based on the conditions at hand.
Induction Solutions took the time to make this unit very racer friendly, by making it simple to wire up and including very nice plugs for each function of the controller. This plays into the units’ internal drivers that don’t need as many relays, and allows wiring to be much easier. The unit has a USB interface to adjust settings and to retrieve data logs after a pass that can be used on a laptop.
Another key feature of the NPC-2006 is the ability to progress two stages of nitrous, separate from each other. This gives a racer more control over how, and when, they can bring the big power in, and use the ability to edit the progressive ramp with individual settings for nitrous and fuel solenoids.
So, if you’re a nitrous racer looking to get some reliable power management at the track, the NPC-2006 Nitrous Power Commander might be a product you need to add to your program.
