Jeff Polivka has been on an absolute tear in the NMRA, running wild over the Coyote Modified field this season. With four events in the books for 2016 Polivka has back-to-back event wins and a semi-final appearance in his rookie year running in the class. Being consistent is important, so having good data helps, and that data for Polivka’s team comes from the AEM Infinity ECU onboard.
Polivka’s car is no clone, it’s a real 2013 Boss 302 Mustang that was constructed by Justin’s Performance Center (JPC) in Maryland. The RGR Engines-built Coyote-based mill has pushed the Boss into the high seven-second zone multiple times, while getting boost from the JPC custom built turbo kit, and Forced Inductions 76mm turbo. The boosted power goes to the ground through an M&M Transmissions driveline and Moser M9 rearend housing and axles.
All of the power in the world does you no good if you can’t control it, so Polivka made sure this was addressed. “The AEM Infinity ECU allows us to quickly make changes based on the infinite logging capabilities, and view all the channels in different logging templates within the AEM data software. Kevin McDonald and Eric Holliday, our team’s lead tuners, are able to use the different template setups to fine tune precise changes around boost or timing or back pressure throughout the full run,” says Polivka.
With this kind of success early on, its safe to say that Polivka and his AEM controlled Mustang will continue to be a player running in Coyote Modified this season.
