Our sport has seen a rash of criminal activity this year in the form of race car and engine thefts — some of them on a grand scale — but overnight, things were taken to a point that no one wants to see, when the Midwest Street Cars Automotive facility (made famous by the television show ‘Street Outlaws’) was targeted by vandals.
According to the Midwest Street Cars Facebook page, the business, which is owned and operated by Justin “Big Chief” Shearer and Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington, was fired upon with semi-automatic weapons, doing damage to windows, doors, and interior walls. After the vandals left the shop, they were reportedly seen on surveillance cameras approaching the home of Ellington, but were spooked when Ellington stepped outside and left the area without firing any of their weapons.
Below is the statement from Midwest Street Cars. If you have any information at all on this crime, you’re urged to contact the shop or local authorities.
We’ve had a terrible turn of events here at Midwest Street Cars. Overnight, someone walked up to our store with semi-automatic weapons and unloaded on our storefront.
After this, they were caught on video at Shawns house where he and his family were but got startled when Shawn walked outside.
We’re in a bit of shock and very worried at this point that the situation may escalate.
WE’RE OFFERING A $5,000 REWARD for someone who can give us info on who may have performed this hate crime.
