NHRA officials announced today the 2012 NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series schedule, which is highlighted by a return to St. Louis for the inaugural NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park, September 28-30, 2012.
The 2012 NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series will feature the series’ traditional 10 races and kick off once again at the 43rd annual Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida, March 8-11. The series will also be a part of the VisitMyrtleBeach.com NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at the zMAX Dragway – albeit in a traditional two-wide format – in Charlotte for the first time, April 13-15. From there, the Pro Mod teams will head to the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston, April 27-29, the NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, N.J., May 31-June 3,, the Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, June 15-17, and conclude the first half of the season at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, July 5-8.
The second half of the season will begin at the sports; most prestigious race, the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil in Indianapolis, August 29-September 3, and continue on to the second of two Charlotte races, the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals, September 14-16 and the Midwest Nationals in St. Louis, September 28-30. The NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series will then close the curtain on the season at its traditional season finale in Las Vegas for the Big O Tires NHRA Nationals, October 25-28.
Entry quotas for the Pro Mod competitors will remain at 26 for every event with the exception of Indianapolis, which allows for 30 entries. The series will also continue to feature 16-car fields and compete for world championship points and event purses and year-end bonuses totaling over $470,000, thanks to sponsorship from Get Screened America.
