If you’re a Mustang drag racing fan, you already know the NMRA World Finals at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky is one of the biggest all-Ford drag events of the year. Simply put, if there’s only one NMRA event you can attend, we’d be hard-pressed to argue against the World Finals. Championships are won and lost at the event, and frankly, Beech Bend is one of the coolest drag strips in America. Plus, Bowling Green, Kentucky is a nice area, which adds to the event, as well.
Adding to this year’s event, Chris Hamilton, AKA BoostedGT from Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws will be in attendance, but not just to sign your T-shirt, he’ll be there to race, too. Specifically, Hamilton will be in attendance October 3rd, signing autographs, hanging with fans and racers, and the like, but that night a special grudge event will take place when BoostedGT lines up against other racers in heads-up, wheels-up action. “The NMRA race at Beech Bend Raceway is the biggest Mustang race of the year and I look forward to seeing all the street outlaws out there,” Hamilton says.
Hamilton’s 2003 Cobra is the top Ford on the 405 List sitting in the 5th spot as of this writing, and is also a small tire car among big tire cars. Hamilton’s Cobra utilizes a Precision single turbocharged small block Windsor for motivation, and a Team Z Motorsports suspension. “I’m excited to run my Mustang in the grudge race because we aren’t towing up to Kentucky to sit in the pits,” Hamilton says.
Make sure you don’t miss the NMRA World Finals, which takes place October 1st-4th, at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and if you can’t make it to the race, be sure to check out our coverage on StangTV all weekend long.
