Following a hugely successful filming in Bristol, Tennessee in August, the Street Outlaws are set for an encore performance next month in Memphis, as the stars of the Discovery Channel’s reality show will vie for $50,000 while filming for an upcoming episode of the program at the Memphis International Raceway.
Slated for October 14th and 15th (Saturday and Sunday), the Street Outlaws filming will feature both a Small Tire and Big Tire no-prep shootout — $5,000 being awarded to the winner of Saturday’s Small Tire race and the big prize, fifty-large, going to the champion of Sunday’s Big Tire contest. Unlike the Bristol event, which was free and open to the public, MIR will charge $15 per person on Saturday and $25 on Sunday — a small sum that we’d imagine will still lead to a sellout crowd.
The driver lineup at present includes Oklahoma City’s Justin “Big Chief” Shearer, Shawn “Murder Nova” Ellington, FarmTruck, AZN, “Daddy Dave” Comstock, Chuck Seitsinger, James Goad, Ryan Martin, and James “Doc” Love, squaring off with New Orleans’ Kye Kelley, Jerry Bird, Scott Taylor, and Barry Nicholson and Memphis’ JJ DaBoss and his drivers “Midget” (wife, Patrica Day) and Precious Cooper.
In Bristol, Shearer, the face of the 405’s hit show, drove his Pontiac GTO to victory over Jerry Bird’s Ford Probe, collecting the $100,000 payday that went along with it.
