Few events in drag racing these days garner the anticipation and the hype of major national events of decades-gone-by, but Donald Long’s Lights Out and No Mercy drag radial races in South Georgia still do just that. The fans and the media want to know who the players are, and the players have no problem letting you know they’re coming with everything but the kitchen sink in the trailer.
One racer fired-up to let his impending presence known is Huntsville, Alabama native and longtime small-tire racer Shane Stack, who has employed the use of drone cameras in the past to document his team loading up their badass Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the trip over to Georgia for the biggest and baddest radial tire races in the sport.
This time around, Stack and company have gone all-out with the camera work on their newest video as they prepare for this weekend’s highly-anticipated No Mercy V: Cleared For Takeoff, utilizing at least one drone camera and a host of static cameras onboard the race car, the truck, and the trailer — set to “Thunderstuck” by AC/DC — as they load up to take on the big boys in the Radial versus The World category.
Stack has been a steady top-half qualifier in the no-holds-barred headlining class at The Duck’s South Georgia races, and he’s sure to be right there to play a spoiler should any of the frontrunners slip up. That said, if this one-of-a-kind video from the Stack camp doesn’t get you fired up about this weekend’s big race, you’re clearly in the wrong sport!
