On Saturday morning at approximately 10:27 a.m. Lincoln County (Missouri) Fire & Rescue personnel were dispatched to a fully involved structure fire at Jerry Bickel Race Cars on Raceway Park Drive in Moscow Mills, Missouri. Twenty fire trucks and 36 firefighters responded to the scene. The building, which housed an RV, enclosed trailer, at least three complete or partial race cars, and an array of components and materials were destroyed in the fire, deeming the structure and its contents a total loss.
A security system malfunction alerted a the security monitoring company to dispatch a police officer to the address, who found the building on fire. Lincoln County fire officials and the State Fire Marshal’s office conducted an initial investigation utilizing the surveillance cameras inside the building, which showed smoke visible at the ceiling level at approximately 10:15 a.m. Seven minutes later, the camera failed, believed to be due to the fire and heat. Investigators believe, however, that the building’s electrical system is the potential accidental cause.
