Tim Savell has been wheeling cars for the Bankston Boyz Racing team in the Pro Modified class in several organizations, and is getting ready to jump into their brand new 2017 Dodge Dart from Jerry Bickel Race Cars, known as “Kong 2”. This sinister-looking new Mopar is packing big nitrous power under the hood and the team has goals of storming to the top of the Pro Mod ranks in the NMCA, PDRA, and ADRL.

The Mike Bankston-owned Dart was just completed at Jerry Bickel Race Cars and is cloaked in the traditional deep black paint of the Bankston team. Powering the car will be 959 cubic-inches of fuel injected Pat Musi Racing Engines power with a custom Musi nitrous system feeding the laughing gas into the motor. Putting the power down will be a Lenco transmission with a Bruno drive and Neal Chance Racing Converters lock-up torque converter. Suspension parts from Strange Engineering can also be found on the car, along with Lamb Components brakes to help slow it down after each three-second pass.

Currently, Savell is sitting fifth in the NMCA Xtreme Pro Mod points but is within striking distance of the series title. According to Bankston Boyz Racing team manager Aaron Cannon, the crew on the car has some big goals for the rest of the year.

“We will be racing this car in the NMCA, PDRA, and maybe the ADRL, as well, during the rest of the season. Our goal is to get the record in NMCA Xtreme Pro Mod and in the PDRA Pro Nitrous class.”

The team plans on debuting the Kong 2 at the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl this weekend at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois.
