You just got done putting the finishing touches on your brand new forced induction combination and are as excited as a kid on Christmas morning. As you go to put the hood on the awful realization sets in you didn’t account for the extra space required for all the piping. What do you do? Unlimited Products has the solution to this dilemma with their stylish and functional Bubble Hood that’s designed for forced induction applications.
The Bubble Hood is the creation of Kevin Walluer from Unlimited Fiberglass in California. As Walluer was building his own 1967 Camaro with a blower, he realized he was running out of real estate to make things fit under the hood. This predicament got his gears turning and he created the design for a hood that was a more modern looking and a practical alternative to the cowl induction hood.
According to Walluer, the Bubble Hood offers more than good looks to racers who are trying to gain an edge.
“Racers really like the aerodynamics that this hood can provide them versus the other options out there. Another huge plus to these hoods is that they make seeing the tree much easier. Since the design swoops down in the back it provides more visibility, versus a cowl induction style hood.”
The hoods are offered in both fiberglass and carbon fiber options, with bubble sizes from two-inches all the way to seven-inches. If you need a custom sized bubble for your application Unlimited Fiberglass has the ability to create that for you, as well. These hoods are available for Mustangs, Chevelles, Novas, and Camaros, but can also be custom-made for a specific car if you have a ride that’s a bit different.
