Depending upon which side of the fence you’re on or how you tend to look at things, this may or may not come as a breath of fresh air, but with all of the new Camaros being rolled out (and don’t get us wrong, we’re in love with the looks), it’s nice to see that interest is still being shown in the other staple bodies that we’re accustomed to seeing.

The ADRL’s Agent 660 outed some photos on Monday of this spankin’ brand new 2012 Ford Mustang in GT500-esque colors for the Extreme Pro Stock team of longtime mountain motor racer Doug Kirk. Kirk and company picked up their new set of wheels of Jerry Haas Race Cars shop on Saturday and headed back to West Virginia to prepare for testing ahead of the season opening CarSafe Dragpalooza VIII at the Royal Purple Raceway in Houston, which is now little more than two weeks away.

Kirk’s new Mustang features a virtually identical red GT500 scheme with dual white racing stripes as his previous mount, but now sports the “swoopier” new body with a smaller and more aerodynamic frontal area being utilized by the NHRA Pro Stock teams.

Despite an 11th place finish in the standings last season, Kirk has still established a solid resume in the ADRL, most notably winning the very first Extreme Pro Stock race held at Dragpalooza V at the Texas Motorplex back in 2009.
