The racing season is slowly drawing to a close and racers are still putting in laps at tracks across the country. Pro Torque racers had a stout September, with wins during Drag Week, the Shakedown Nationals, and wrapping up season championships in various series.
Drag Week is brutal on every part of a vehicle that takes part in the event, and just being able to finish is an accomplishment. Tom Bailey cemented his Drag Week legacy by not only winning the 2019 event in the Unlimited class but also becoming the first person to break the 5-second barrier with his Pro Torque-equipped Camaro. Other winners from Drag Week that used Pro Torque products included Glenn Hunter Jr. in the Pro Street Power Adder class and Craig Groebner in Ultimate Iron.
The Shakedown Nationals XVII found a new home at Virginia Motorsports Park and the fastest heads-up racers in the country came out to put on a great show. Pro Torque racers secured wins in Ultra Street thanks to Joel Greathouse and in X275 with Ron Rhodes. Rodney Ragen, Charles Hull, and Martin Connelley all earned number one qualifying spots using Pro Torque torque converters.
Pro Torque also had several racers lock up 2019 season championships in September; Dale Heiler and Nathan Farrugia both earned titles in the 660 Outlaws series with their Pro Torque-equipped machines. Also, Jessie Coulter won his third NMCA title in the Xtreme Street category with his LS-powered Camaro that uses a Pro Torque torque converter.
