2021 NEOPMA Pro Mod Drag Racing Schedule Announced

The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (NEOPMA) announced its eight-race 2021 schedule as well as payout information and rule updates for the coming season. Focusing primarily on eighth-mile Pro Modified drag racing, the NEOPMA is one of the oldest and most respected organizations of its kind.

Although the addition of a ninth race to the NEOPMA calendar is still a strong possibility, current plans are for the sanctioning body to count points towards year-end championships from seven of the eight events, with one serving as a drop race. Dates were specifically scheduled to minimize conflicts with existing NHRA and PDRA schedules to allow the series’ drivers the best chance of maximizing their competition opportunities.

In 2021, the NEOPMA will run at the following events:

Apr. 16-18 Door Wars Maryland International Raceway Mechanicsville, MD
May 7-8 Weekend Warriors Maple Grove Raceway Mohnton, PA
May 14-16 Yellow Bullet Cecil County Dragway Rising Sun, MD
Jul. 30-31 Empire NEOPMA Challenge Empire Dragway Leicester, NY
Aug. 20-21 IHRA Sportsman Spectacular Maryland International Raceway Mechanicsville, MD
Sep. 3-5 Yellow Bullet Cecil County Dragway Rising Sun, MD
Sep. 17-18 Dutch Classic Maple Grove Raceway Mohnton, PA
Oct. 1-2 Supercharger Showdown Maryland International Raceway Mechanicsville, MD

For those looking for a great place to race, the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association offers an exciting opportunity thanks to surprisingly low-cost entry fees, high payouts, and top-quality tracks. With an annual entry fee of $1,000/year which includes the driver and up to three crew members, the average cost per race comes to only $125/event.

To its event winners, the NEOPMA pays $6,000 while the runner-up earns $1,500. Racers who go out in the semi-finals receive $800, second round exits pay out $600, and first round competitors take home $500 each. Additionally, consolation races for those who did not qualify for primary elimination events as well as buy backs offer drivers more chances to go home with some extra cash in their pockets.

To allow its racers to better prepare for the season, the NEOPMA also announced its rule changes for the 2021 year. Officials focused their efforts on parity amongst the power adders, simplicity, commonality, and logic when making the updates, and also took into consideration what other similar organizations were mandating to help drivers easily race at other series with minimal modifications. While most of the rules closely mimic those of the PDRA, racers are encouraged to check the NEOPMA website at NEOutlawProMods.com for specific details.

“Thanks to our partner tracks for their continued support, and special thanks to NEOPMA club member sponsors Brian Hard, Fred Scriba, and Gene Pilot, for helping us with supporting funding,” said John Mazzorana, Director of the NEOPMA. “Additional thanks to our manufacturer sponsors ATI Performance, American Racing Headers, USA Auto Products, Star Transporters/Renegade, Jerry Bickel Race Cars, Ram Clutches, and VP Racing Fuels.”
