Notably, Pro Stock will again contest an 18-race schedule, forgoing competition at the Charlotte four-wide event, as well as Richmond, Brainerd, and the Countdown the Championship race at Reading. Mountain Motor Pro Stock will slide in to replace Pro Stock at two of the four events, at Richmond and Brainerd, and will also join the series at Indianapolis and the fall Charlotte race.
Pro Stock Motorcycle will contest 16 races, and like Pro Stock, will skip one event during the Countdown, at Charlotte. Pro Modified will again contest 10 races, this year trading Denver for a return to St. Louis; most prominently, the Pro Mod points chase will now end in Dallas rather than the traditional closer at Las Vegas. factory Stock Showdown will also maintain its eight-race schedule, closing its season in Dallas in the fall.
Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, and Super Gas will remain mainstays on the calendar, competing at all 22 national events, while Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Competition Eliminator, Super Street, Top Dragster, and Top Sportsman will all compete at as many as 18 races.
