Would You Buy This SBC-Swapped Scion xB?

With a proper wheel swap, this absolutely one-of-a-kind 2004 Scion xB sedan could be quite the “sleeper.” But, what’s something like this worth?

This 2004 Scion xB sedan, finished in its original “Lava” color, underwent a major transformation at the hands of the skilled professionals at Advanced Auto Concepts in 2006-07. Powered by a 450 horsepower, 383 cubic inch Chevrolet stroker motor, mated to a 700R4 automatic transmission and an 8.8-inch Ford differential with 3.73:1 gears, this custom-built vehicle is a quite a marvel.

The body of the Scion xB has been modified to accommodate the V8 Chevy engine, with custom modifications made to the engine compartment. A new floor was crafted to house the new chassis, while the rear wheel wells were mini-tubbed to accommodate the wider tires. The exterior boasts a flawless two-stage “Lava” Scion color, devoid of any cracks, scratches, or rust bubbles.

Under the hood, the engine boasts numerous enhancements, including a bored and stroked 383 cubic inch Chevy small-block. It features a Demon 750 cfm carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and Edelbrock aluminum heads. With a hydraulic flat tappet cam, forged pistons and rods, and a custom 18-gallon stainless steel fuel tank, this Scion xB is more powerful than it looks.

The chassis has been hand-built, incorporating a 4-link rear suspension to support the V8 engine. Non-power rack & pinion steering provides responsive handling, while Koni adjustable coilover shocks in the front and QA1 adjustable shocks in the rear ensure a smooth ride. Custom 15-inch Weld Wheel Drag Lites, fitted with BF Goodrich T/A radials, enhance the vehicle’s grip and style.

Inside, the stock Scion interior remains largely intact. While the factory gauges are non-functional, an aftermarket GPS speedometer and tachometer have been installed, although they were never connected. Autometer oil pressure, voltmeter, and water temperature gauges function properly. The interior is equipped with a Pioneer multi-speaker AM/FM/CD player, and power windows add convenience.

This wild Scion is a impressive for what it is, meticulously customized and professionally built to the highest standards. Its striking “Lava” color, swapped Chevrolet V8, and carefully crafted chassis make it a truly unique and formidable machine. With less than 100 estimated miles on the odometer.
