Cool Racing Parts is showcasing a solution for all vehicles plagued by heat soak. During the PRI event, Cool Racing Parts introduced their new intake tube cooling blanket. “Everyone has a problem with heat soak,” says Ken Collins, a representative from Cool Racing Parts. “So, we figured that we could take the heat soak out of the intake.”

The Intake Tube Cooling Blanket is designed to wrap around the intake tube, so it effectively insulates that from the engine bay. It maintains a temperature of approximately 54 degrees Fahrenheit so that the charge of air intake is always cool and dense for ideal combustion.

“We have made a pad that will roughly stay at 54 degrees all the time,” Collins explains. “You can make it colder by putting it in an ice chest or in a freezer. You can’t freeze it, but you can use the freezer to cool it down. This is something that can be used not only just on somebody that’s got a full-on hardcore race car, but also a weekend warrior that wants to go out and get the most power out of their run for bragging rights amongst their friends.”

It’s pretty user-friendly, so one of the best features of the intake tube cooling blanket is its simplicity. No difficult setup procedure is needed, and no special tools are required. The blanket is also designed to accommodate intake tubes of several sizes and shapes, allowing it to fit most vehicle makes and models.

“This is something that can be run on pretty much any make model vehicle as long as it wraps around the tube,” Collins explains. “This can be used on anything from Pro Stock Motorcycles, Pro Stock cars to Stock Eliminator to anything bone stock. You can run this product on anything with an intake tube, really.”
