At the most recent ADRL event at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan, the 2013 Cobra Jet Mustang made its very first pass down the drag strip and, judging from its out-of-the-box performance level, it will take some time for any of the other auto manufacturer’s to catch up.

Just like its legendary predecessors, the Cobra Jet Mustang for 2013 was built on a solid foundation of race winning heritage which dates all the way back to the 1960’s. When the Ford’s of yesteryear were doing battle in Stock and Super Stock ranks against the Chevrolet and Mopar factory muscle cars Ford always seemed to have the upper edge on the competition. Nothing has changed as you fast forward fifty-plus years, and there’s a brand new series dedicated to factory super cars in the ADRL. Since its inception, the ADRL Supercar Showdown category has been dominated by the Mustangs and with the likes of Bo Butner tearing up the competition and the 2013 Cobra Jet lurking in the shadows how long will it be before it takes its first win?
Now sit back enjoy the video from our friends over at the ADRL and Tyrant Productions as you watch the 2013 Cobra Jet Mustang making its very first pass down the dragstrip. In the eighth-mile the Mustang turned a very impressive 6.023 seconds at nearly 116 mph. Whether you feel it’s impressive or not, where else can you buy that kind of performance straight from a manufacturer? Well that is, if you have the money to buy one.
