Combine Mike Knowles’ 1967 Mustang with his interest in the American Mafia and what emerges is nothing short of an artistic masterpiece. With the aid of Tim McAmis Race Cars and Justin Spencer of Tyrant Productions, Knowles’ rolling canvas of horsepower materializes as a stunning success dedicated to the American Mob.

The American Mob, dating it’s origins in the United States back to the 1920’s from New York‘s lower east side, holds a fascination for Knowles. “I enjoy the history of the old families. The organizational skills they had and the respect they showed each other, without letting personal feelings get in the way, is really inspiring as a business man,” said Knowles. “Don’t get me wrong. They did plenty of bad things, but the way they ran their businesses was fascinating,” added Knowles.

The Cosa Nostra inspired ‘67 consists of a Velocity Composites Lightweight body brandished with an intricate paint illustration applied by Jeff Hoskins of Lake Road Rod and Customs and prominent car painter Chuck Buckler of Banshie Studios. The ‘67 Mustang is adorned with images of Old Vegas, the Prohibition era of the 1920’s, and the “Mob’s Greatest Hits’ garnish the deck lid. The ’Blown Money” logo also decorates the car. The American Mob theme reaches past the exterior of the Mustang to include interior embellishments as well, adding  to the uniqueness of  this one-of-a-kind ride. To name a few of the interior accents: a machine gun barrel steering column, Tommy Gun Grips for the hand brake, and even a knife handle to play the part of the fire bottle lever.

The Blown Money Racing and Tim McAmis Race Cars-built “Mob Edition” 67’ Mustang will make it’s debut at the NHRA Pro Modified season opener in March at the Gator Nationals.
