This year Mark Micke and his M&M Transmissions joined forces with Jason Carter as sponsor, driver, and tuner of his familiar twin turbo Malibu to compete in two series, as well as select outlaw events. The team wrapped up the ADRL Pro Drag Radial championship last weekend in Rockingham and Mark is currently the record holder and points leader in NMCA’s Mickey Thompson Super Street 10.5W class as well, with just one race remaining, October 10-13 at Indy.

Micke made the top eight in ADRL Pro Drag Radial in the class’ debut season for a spot in the Battle For The Belts and a shot at $20,000 but fell short after spinning the tires in the final against Steve Jackson on Friday night at Rockingham, going on to win the ADRL Pro Drag Radial championship on Sunday. After the race, Carter and Micke took the Malibu to Kooks for a new set of headers, then it’s on to No Mercy IIII at South Georgia Motorsports Park to race for the $10,000 winner’s purse in Radial vs. The World.
The team is also heading to Qatar for the Winter Drag Series there and a shot at a $250,000 bonus if they can win that championship, as well. Jason Carter assured us that they are “bringing everything plus the kitchen sink” with them for the six week season overseas.
“Saturday and Sunday in Rockingham teams were fighting the heat; we had to really knock the wind out of the Malibu for race day,” said Carter. “One good plus is Mark is very good at judging the track for how much power it can take. We’d like to take reigns off the Malibu again one of these days, but in the meantime, you can’t win if you’re spinning the tires. The Garrett Turbos keeps on rocking. Our passenger side turbo is now 2-1/2 years old with 200 runs on it. They’re our sponsor and we are proud to run and test there products.” – Jason Carter

Carters malibu is powered by a Nelson Competition big Chevy fed by twin Garrett’s Kris Nelson is often on hand to help with advice or get dirty as necessary to keep the engine in running order.
Other sponsors include M&M Transmissions, Tialsport, VP Fuels, Kooks Headers, Innovators West, Mickey Thompson, Weldon, DEI Header Wrap, Jessel, Afco and Mark Menscer, who is a very important part of the team.
The teams season opener with the NMCA had Mark number one qualifier, low ET and winning the event over David DeMarco.
