During last weekends Manufacturers Cup all-motorcycle happening held at the South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Ga., Top Fuel Motorcycle rider Korry Hogan recorded the fastest trap speed in history, flashing through the scoreboards at a ridiculous 255.00 miles per hour on what was likely the rear wheel.
In 2008, Hogan became the first Top Fuel rider to exceed the 250 mile per hour mark at an AMA Dragbike event at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, clocking a 5.950 at 250.97. The elapsed time on the 255 blast was 6.041 seconds. Larry “The Spiderman” McBride, whom Hogan ultimately defeated in the final round on Sunday by a 6.03 to 6.15 count, holds the other end of the Top Fuel national record at an equally mind boggling 5.74 seconds.
The estimated 1,000 pound motorcycle produces in excess of 1,000 horsepower from its nitromethane-fueled powerplant, and charged to the finish line on a massive 14″ wide slick commonly found on high horsepower door cars and dragsters.
Check out the videos of Hogan’s record-breaking pass, and if you ever get the opportunity to see one of these insane two-wheeled rockets compete, do yourself a favor and jump on it because you won’t be disappointed.
