The Hollywood motion picture film Snake & Mongoose, based on the real life story of drag racing legends Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen and their bitter rivalry-turned-friendship and historic business partnership, debuted on the big screen last fall with a red carpet premiere in Indianapolis before spreading to select theaters across the country, including Reno, Los Angeles, Detroit, and other markets. But for those who didn’t get the chance to see the drag racing-themed drama play out on the silver screen, the film will soon become available to audiences around the world, Anchor Bay Films, a subsidiary of Starz!, has announced.
Today, March 4th, Snake & Mongoose has been made available on Video On Demand for select cable providers across the country, as well as digital download through iTunes and Amazon Instant Video for viewing on your televisions, computers, and mobile devices. On April 8th, the movie will launch on DVD and Blu-Ray at major retailers nationwide, including Wal-Mart, Target, and Best Buy. If you want to be the first to get your hands on the physical release, pre-orders are now being taken at Amazon, as well.
Snake & Mongoose is the incredibly true story of Prudhomme and McEwen, who were on-track nemesis’s in the fiery years of drag racing and gained mainstream fame when they teamed up with Hot Wheels — and each other — for a historic marketing partnership that remains a culturally iconic story even today.
