There was once a time when the only worthy performance cars on the road were American muscle. We’ve got to give foreign automakers some credit though, as they’ve managed to introduce some fairly formidable vehicles themselves. Towards the top of the foreign horsepower heap is the Nissan GT-R, with a 480 horsepower twin-turbo inline-six cylinder engine and all-wheel drive.

But can it beat a supercharged Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8? That is what Dragtimes.Info wanted to find out when they lined up this race between Japanese muscle and American sport utility at the Moscow Unlimited.

We don’t have any more info than what is provided in the video, which is brief and to the point. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is obviously an older model, and has been bored out to 7.2 liters (440 cubic-inches) and fitted with a supercharger. Claimed horsepower is in the region of 640 ponies, which is quite healthy even for this hefty SUV. It’s opponent is a Stage 2 R35 Nissan GT-R, with 550 horsepower and the advantage of all-wheel drive and an advanced Japanese engine. But is that enough to take down the monster American?

Well we aren’t going to spoil the ending for you. Suffice to say though, these were separated by only 3/10^th of a second in the quarter mile, and just over a tenth of a second down the full mile course. Who won?
