As was reported in the rumor mill last week, NHRA Pro Stock rookie Buddy Perkinson will compete at this weekend’s 57th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis aboard a Ford Mustang supplied by Competition Eliminator racer Mark Wolfe with horsepower from Larry Morgan.
“When it comes to making big power with Ford Pro Stock engines, no one is doing it better than Larry Morgan Racing,” says Perkinson. “And thanks to some key sponsorship from Wealth Management Strategies / AXA Advisors, I’m living and racing my dream: to drive a top-notch Pro Stock car at the NHRA U.S. Nationals. To say that I’m excited is an understatement!”
The Rick Jones built 2010 Ford Mustang, as previously reported, is the former Frank Gugliotta-driven mount that Wolfe recently acquired for his expected Pro Stock participation at Las Vegas and Pomona later this season. Morgan will handle the crew chief duties and team management at Indianapolis, while Perkinson Racing’s Christian Thompson and Randy Perkinson will serve as the crew.
“I want to thank Mark Wolfe and Larry Morgan for working with us to make this happen,” notes Perkinson. “It feels so good to be back in a top-notch race car with enough power to race my way into the show at Indy. I’m looking forward to testing at Martin (Michigan) and have a great feeling about this combination and the opportunities in front of me.”
Irvine, California-based Wealth Management Strategies/AXA Advisors has stepped up to sponsor Perkinson at Indy.
“We have been involved in a lot of different motorsport sponsorships and are really looking forward to supporting Buddy Perkinson’s up-and-coming career in NHRA Pro Stock,” explains Brent Koch, Wealth Management Strategies / AXA Advisors. “Our company does a lot of business-to-business networking and the NHRA national events provide a great environment for building awareness of our products and services.”
