Matt Latino has been a part of his father Eric Latino’s racing program for many years, and now Matt is ready to make his mark as a driver. At the SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout, Matt climbed into his father’s KB Titan Camaro and earned his Pro Stock license. Matt’s goal for 2025 is to secure funding so he can run the NHRA Mission Foods series in his own Pro Stock car.
Drag racing runs in the Latino family, so it’s only natural that Matt took an interest in the sport. When Matt wasn’t wrenching on his dad’s race cars, he was making passes in his rides. Matt’s goal has always been to race at the highest levels alongside his father.
Since the PRO Superstar Shootout is a non-points race for the Pro Stock class, Eric thought it would be a great chance for Matt to get his Pro Stock license and make some laps. Not only did Matt earn his Pro Stock license, but he also qualified number seven with a 6.52. Considering the level of talent that was at this event, that’s a significant accomplishment.
Matt plans on making some more appearances behind the wheel of his father’s Camaro after he has knee surgery in 2025. A Camaro is waiting for Matt in the KB Titan shop, but he needs to find the funding to campaign that car during the 2025 season. Matt hopes that his solid performance at the PRO Superstar Shootout will assist him with finding enough sponsorship to run the majority of the Pro Stock schedule this year.
