PRI 2012: Weld Racing Shows Off Revolutionary Delta-1 Race Wheels

When it comes to wheels, there are countless brands and styles to choose from. But if you’re looking for the best technology, weight savings and the ability to withstand the abuse of the racetrack from your wheels, chances are you’re familiar with Weld Racing. Weld has produced a number of outstanding wheels over the years, but they aren’t done yet and the proof is in their latest creation – the Delta-1 drag racing wheel. Check it out in the video from our visit to the 2012 Performance Racing Industry Tradeshow above.

For over 40 years, Weld has concentrated on engineering and manufacturing only the best street and race wheels for their customers. This dedication has paid off and launched the company to one of the top positions in the industry for high quality wheels. Not only do Weld’s products look good but they also work which is why even the pros use them. What more could you ask for when looking for the perfect wheel for your competitive vehicle?

The Delta-1 series from Weld is made with all different types of racers in mind. Whether you race Top Fuel or Funny Car classes, Pro Mod, Top Alcohol dragster or top alcohol funny car, or even in the pro stock class, Weld has created a Delta-1 wheel specifically for your vehicle.

Made out of a 146-pound forging, this completely one-piece wheel features ultimate rigidity and strength while cutting down on weight with wheels starting at just 18.9-pounds a piece. This is 3-pounds lighter than Weld’s previous lightest wheel, and as we all know, weight savings means noticeable time savings on the track. But the reduction isn’t just in static weight. These wheels also feature over a 60-percent rotational mass savings as well, once again transferring to time savings in competition.

With many years of racing experience, Erica Enders knows the importance of a strong yet light-weight wheel on the track. So, after 20 years of experience with Weld wheels, there’s only one choice for Enders’ newest wheels – the Delta 1s. Not only does Enders like the looks of the wheels on her NHRA car, she also told us she loves the noticeable improvements in her car’s performance.

Whether you’re a weekend racer or a professional on the track, Weld Racing has the wheels you need. And with the weight savings, choice of black or polished finishes and overall strength of the Delta 1s, is there really anything else you could ask for?
