Filling a transmission with the best parts possible will net you additional performance on the track, but what good are those parts if your transmission case fails? ATI Performance Products has the answer to that problem for TH350 users with their new SFI approved TH350 case. This unit is designed to hold big horsepower and eliminate the need for transmission shields.
J.C. Beattie Jr. and the team at ATI have cooked up a case for the TH350 that’s designed to be a powerhouse piece that can deal with big horsepower applications. The goal for this new transmission case was to provide something to high-performance lovers that has plenty of options to grow with you as you make more power.
“This new case will be machined on a four-axis CNC machine. Everything we learned from making the TH400 case has been to applied to the TH350 case. We have options for different pressure ports and we’re going to have extra clutches inside with the added material this case provides. We are working on supporting parts for this including billet pistons, an aluminum front half, aluminum valve body, output shafts, and input shafts,” Beattie says.
One thing racers will love about this new case is that they can ditch their TH350 shields and blankets that can get in the way of the shifter since this case is SFI approved. With the stronger case, racers will also be able to increase the amount of line pressure they run. The increased line pressure will let a TH350 transmission that uses the ATI case hold more power and have better transbrake function.
