SEMA 2014: ACCEL Creates Selector Tool, Eases Correct Part Matching

AccelSEMA10We’ve all been there before: we walk into a parts store and order a part that seems pretty simple – like wiper insert – and the person behind the counter asks if the car has a V8 engine, and if it has a manual or automatic transmission. It’s enough to make you scream as the person insists they can’t get your part without that vital information. Of course, you reluctantly provide the answer, and you get your part – as if it really mattered what transmission was in the car.

But now, ACCEL Ignition has created their Kit Selector Tool to make matching parts to applications more simplified. For many engine or transmission applications, such as bell housings for engine swaps, the required questions are choices on the screen. But when the application is for items such as spark plugs and wires, only the important, vital information is needed to return the proper parts and application listing.

The beauty of the Selector Tool is that the end user it not limited to engines that were installed in the car from the factory, making engine swap decisions for clutches and bell housings much easier than searching through pages of applications – or having that kid behind the counter tell you that your car never came with that engine.

AccelSEMA15The application is expected to launch in January 2015 from the ACCEL website, and has been received very well by the automotive industry, with both retailers and potential customers alike.

Aaron Allison, with ACCEL, says, “We’re in comeback mode and putting a lot of effort into these six brands,” referring to ACCEL Ignition, Mr. Gasket, Mallory Ignition, Hays, Lakewood and Quick Time. You can find out more about ACCEL and their other brands by visiting the ACCEL website, and keep an eye out for the Kit Selector Tool coming next January.
