The GoPro booth at SEMA 2014 was quite a sight, and took up an impressive amount of floor space. The booth was alive with people trying to get a glimpse at the newest products and watch the awesome footage captured with GoPro personal cameras from around the world.
The various displays were showing everything you can think of within the action sports world as well as a ton of motor sports, including off road, dirt bikes, and road racing just to name a few.
Kelly Leggoe said, “GoPro has released two new models, the GoPro Hero4 Silver edition which replaces the Hero3+ at the $399 price point, and now has an integrated LCD screen. Hero4 Black edition which is basically two times the camera; as it has double the processing speed, handles 4k at 30fps, shoots up to 1080p, along with a host of other features giving you the amazing audio / video quality.”
The mounting hardware seems to be part of GoPro’s success in that it allows the user to easily attach their camera in a number of tough situations and still capture those awesome moments. The motorsports world has benefitted greatly with the helmet, roll bar, and suction cup mounts, but there are always new means of improvement.
Kelly also mentioned, “The latest mounts include the “Fetch” mount which is a dog harness with two different mounting locations, as well as our “3-way” mount that replaces the pole. The 3-way converts between a pole, tripod, or pistol grip.”
The GoPro has created quite a market for itself, and has enabled so many people to not only see fast moving sports from new angles, but it enables those of us participating in these solo sports to share our experiences with those otherwise not able to participate.
