SEMA 2015: Heatshield Products Can Keep You Cool Under The Heat

IMG_3406

Heatshield Products never seems to disappoint with their level of innovation in regards to the science of heat transfer. We cruised into their booth and were kindly greeted by Steve Heye, who IMG_3372explained, “The two things that are new from us right now are the Muffler Armor, and the NOMAR wrenches which we are quite proud of.” These carbon fiber wrenches are an alternative to the aluminum variety you are probably familiar with, and work wonderfully at getting your AN fittings tight while looking new.

Heye continued, “You can put it on cats and mufflers, which allows you to insulate your vehicle against the heat source while allowing the bottom to breathe. Our blankets can also be used on firewalls, transmission tunnels, under the hood, and even around an air intake to help keep intake air cool.”

Heatshield even went so far as to put a torch to their product, and show us the minimal amount of heat transfer with an IR thermometer, quite the display! Also, we know many guys like the look of the shiny metallic intake tubes, but they are heavily affected by heat soak, so we even offer a velcro sleeve for such an application to make removal and reapplying extremely quick and easy.

We can attest to these products as well from use on our vehicles, and in fact we used the velcro shielding material to help keep heat away from the charge pipes running to and from the intercooler on a boosted truck of our own.
