We know Matt Smith is one of the best when he grabs the handlebars of good equipment, as proven by his NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship in 2007, along with his many other National event wins and his current 5th place points position in NHRA PSM. Smith has sung this song once before in 2009, when he gave Pro Extreme Motorcycle a shot but failed to run good enough to get a chance in eliminations. Could Matt Smith’s newly-revealed 2-wheeled machine be the key to getting a slot in the PXM field this year?

While there’s no official word from Smith or any associates on whether or not he’ll be making an appearance at ADRL’s nearest event taking place on September 10-11 at Rockingham Dragway, it seems like a perfect chance for Smith to give it a go as it doesn’t conflict with the NHRA Full Throttle schedule (Smith currently sits 5th in PSM well within striking distance of the 2010 title). The Lenmar Motorsports World Finals in Ennis, TX would be the only other ADRL race in 2010 that doesn’t conflict with the NHRA schedule.
Whenever his first ADRL appearance may be, it’ll be thanks to all the efforts that George Bryce’s Star Racing team have put into this champ’s new bike. Engine and other drivetrain details are being left out for now, but should be coming up soon should Smith and Star Racing give us the full rundown on their plans for ADRL competition in 2010 and/or 2011. Regardless, Matt Smith looks to make his presence well-known, hoping to become a serious contender in the unfamiliar Pro Extreme Motorcycle territory. Will he have what it takes, or will the likes of Ashley Owens, Terry Schweigert, and Eric Mckinney stay on top in the PXM ranks?
