$110,000 Mustang Racecar Stolen From In Front Of Owner’s House

chadwick3One of the main codes for a gearhead is “don’t steal my stuff”, and for anyone who has had parts, engines, trailers, or their car stolen, it’s a rude awakening, to say the least. Often times, thieves break into a garage or a yard and make away with your prized possession, but when they steal your car from right in front of your home, let’s just say that the victimization of that theft is much harder to take.

That’s what Mike Chadwick, of San Ramon, California is feeling according a news story after his beloved 1967 Mustang racecar, truck, and trailer were stolen from him this past Tuesday. Chadwick had been racing his beautiful $110,000 Mustang over the Memorial Day weekend at Sonoma Raceway and since the storage facility where he stores his car was closed on Monday, he parked it in front of his home.

Chadwick had spent over 12 years building his Mustang and loved racing it. He believes that the thieves may have seen him racing over the weekend and possibly followed him home. Sometime on Tuesday, thieves stopped in front of his home and managed to steal his truck and enclosed trailer with the Mustang locked up inside.

One of Chadwick’s neighbors saw a late model BMW parked in front of his house and saw one man driving off in Chadwick’s truck. He managed to snap a few pics with his cellphone and asked Chadwick if he had someone come and haul his car away. That’s when that sinking feeling set in, and his Mustang was gone. Chadwick said, “It kills ya. It’s like having your child kidnapped.” He worries he may never see his car again, and wonders if he will ever see his Mustang again.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Chadwick’s Mustang is encouraged to contact the San Ramon police department. Chadwick’s tan Ford truck was towing his white enclosed trailer with “Stroke of Luck Racing” on the side.
