Engineers from General Motors have been testing their cars on the Nurburgring since around 2003. Or right around the time the F-bodies went out of production, however you want to look at it. Factor in that they quit selling Pontiacs in Europe ages ago, and it’s safe to assume that nobody has ever seen one go around the famed German racing circuit. Until now.

We longed to see one of these go around the Nurburgring circuit for years, and it's finally happened!

Thanks to the invention of YouTube, we’re able to witness automotive spectacles from all over the world, as we just ran across two videos of a 2002 Sunset Orange WS6 being filmed on the ‘Ring in Germany. Unfortunately however, it was a rainy day and the track was evidently quite slick.

We have no idea of much skill the driver in the video had, but judging by his lack of control in the wet, we would have to say he was not a seasoned Formula 1 driver. Owners of these cars are aware of their immense handling prowess, but they’re also well aware that these cars don’t particularly like taking corners when there’s a lake where the pavement should be.

Need proof? Then look no further than the attached video above. The orange Pontiac nearly collides with a barrier while taking a corner, with the owner and a passenger both bracing for impact.

We’re not sure if it was some form of divine intervention or just extremely good luck, but the Trans Am gets by without even a scratch. Despite the fact that it almost sees certain doom during this outing, it’s pretty darn cool watching a WS6 go around the ‘Ring. Finally.
