Event Preview: NMRA World Finals & Holley Intergalactic Ford Fest

If you’re an NMRA drag racing fan, you know the drill. The NMRA comes to Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky, every year at the end of September for the six-race season closer. This year, however, NMRA and Holley have a surprise for you!

For the first time ever, the 21st Annual Nitto Tire All-Ford World Finals collides with the Holley Intergalactic Ford Festival from September 26th to 29th. While the NMRA All-Ford World Finals always make for a thrilling Ford drag racing showdown, Holley Ford Fest opens the flood gates to welcome the addition of drifting, autocross, a car show, road course, and more!

This year, Vaughn Gittin, Jr. and teammate Chelsea DeNofa along with additional Mustang drifters will burn rubber all around Beech Bend Raceway’s circle track. Autocross and Grand Champion will have their shot at the track as well! Cleetus McFarland will be on-hand with his supercharged Crown Victoria competing in the weekend’s burnout contests.

Holley’s “Cornerhorse” Mustang will be in attendance!

The original Bigfoot monster truck will be making an appearance, and the event will also host diesel truck tug-o-wars, dyno shootouts, increased drag race purses, a giant swap meet, and a huge Manufacturers’ Midway.

Besides all of the added fun, the usual NMRA classes and events are still on the schedule.

The World Finals staple – the UPR Products All-Ford Car Show – will feature late-model and vintage stock and modified categories both Saturday and Sunday and is the largest all-Ford car show in Beech Bend history. It is estimated that over 800 show cars will compete for a shot at one of 100 show awards.

The legendary QA1 True Street class will take street cars on a 30-mile road tour before returning to Beech Bend for three consecutive quarter-mile passes. The passes are averaged together for a total of eight winners, from 7-seconds up to 15-second Ford vehicles, in the ultimate shootout of the street cars. Pre-purchase now, because spaces are limited to 200 cars!

From 2,000+ horsepower Street Outlaw cars and 1,500+ horsepower Renegades all the way to bracket racing, there is a spot on the track for just about every Ford. The Stick Shift Shootout, Turbo Coyote, Terminators/Cobras vs. GT500 Shootout, and King of the Street will all be returning as well.

This race and even will be one for the books, so mark your calendar! We’ll catch you out there!
