MSD’s Power Grid Ignition System (PGIS) is a robust ignition controller that can be expanded with a variety of modules. Racers who use a PGIS can control individual cylinder timing, set RPM limits, incorporate stages of nitrous retard, and much more. In this video, you’ll learn how to set up an Advanced RPM Control module (ARC) to work with the PGIS, and how to get the most out of it at the track.

The ARC limits RPM based on the RPM acceleration rate, or it can be limited based on how much time has elapsed since a vehicle launched. The ARC module works with a driveshaft sensor to pull timing in real-time based on what your vehicle is experiencing. This is great for racers who are trying to put down a lot of horsepower to the track when conditions are less than ideal.

MSD View software is the gateway to setting up and adjusting the ARC module. All of your RPM curves are set up in MSD View along with any RPM limits you need. MSD View works off the driveshaft speed, so the ARC module can make any changes during a pass. You have a lot of options when it comes to the curves you want to set up.
