Flowmaster Lanches Website for New Racing Silencers

Racetracks all across the country are facing legal issues as neighbors complain about the noise associated with racing.  Too many great old racetracks and dragstrips have met the demise after these neighbors bring legal suits against the them and eventually just shut down. Other tracks have found a compromise with neighbors and the law as they switch to muffler rules to bring the noise levels down. With these new mufflers racetracks can stay open and give racers a place to race.

A trusted name in muffler technology and real innovator in the field, Flowmaster, is launching a new product line to help racers and racetracks with muffler rules.  Flowmaster helped greatly in the early 1980′s as local race tracks in Northern California were becoming surrounded by their communities and began facing threats of closure due to the sound concerns brought by the encroaching populations. Ray Flugger, inventor of Flowmaster, thought he could help with the problem.

‘Common knowledge’ at that time said that race cars would lose power with the installation of mufflers, but Ray, who had already developed significant exhaust products in years past, was determined to find a way to quiet local Sprint cars (the loudest cars running at these tracks) without affecting the performance, and the Flowmaster chambered race muffler was born- not only the first-ever fully welded muffler, but one with no packing material to ‘blow out’ over time.

Today Flowmaster uses their Delta Flow and Laminar Flow Technologies, together with their Cool Shell Technology to control race car exhaust noise.  Their new silencers designs offer significantly lower sound levels when compared to open headers or un-silenced engines and in many years of dynamometer and track testing, Flowmaster’s race silencers most often provide performance increases over open-exhaust, as well.  Now racers and racetracks looking to quiet race cars and end legal troubles can turn to Flowmaster’s Racing Silencers division and their new website at www.racingsilencers.com to find out more information on their great line of products.
