Heatshield Products Releases Lava Exhaust Wrap

New from Heatshield Products – the unique Lava Exhaust Wrap. This wrap increases engine power, improves exhaust efficiency, and substantially reduces underhood heat. See more details below.

Official Release:

The unique Lava Exhaust Wrap from Heatshield Products increases engine power, improves exhaust efficiency and substantially reduces underhood heat while adding a high-tech and stylish look to header tubes and exhaust pipes. Even though Lava Exhaust Wrap has been imitated, it is the original and still the best performing and longest-lasting basalt-based wrap available.

As an engine makes more horsepower, it produces more heat. In the engine compartment, the exhaust headers radiate a significant amount of heat, and exhaust gas temperatures can easily exceed 1,000 degrees F. Higher underhood temperatures can adversely affect performance, underhood components and fluid systems, such as power steering, brakes and the fuel system.

Lava Exhaust Wrap is made from specially formulated volcanic rock-based fibers designed by Heatshield Products to withstand the rigors of heat exposure on high-performance engines. Due to its specially engineered makeup, Lava Exhaust Wrap can withstand continuous temperatures of 1,200 degrees F and intermittent temperatures up to 2,000 degrees F.

In addition to cutting down on heat radiated from the exhaust headers, Lava Exhaust Wrap contributes to power gains (especially in turbocharged applications) by keeping more heat in the header, which can increase exhaust-gas velocity. This leads to better exhaust efficiency and an increased scavenging effect. In the case of turbocharged engines, this also reduces turbo lag and spool time.

Because Lava Exhaust Wrap continues to remain flexible even after high-heat exposure, it can be reinstalled if removed for maintenance or other reason. It not only controls heat, but also features a specially designed material with a carbon-fiber appearance.

Lava Exhaust Wrap is available in three widths and four roll lengths to fit many applications. It can be purchased as a wrap only or in a Heatshield Products exhaust wrap kit that comes with everything necessary for installation.

Heatshield Products has engineered and manufactured heat-barrier products for more than 30 years, serving the performance and racing industry with the highest quality products at competitive prices. The company is family owned and operated, and is proud to make its products in the USA.

Features:

  • Specially formulated volcanic rock-based fibers are 25% stronger than fiberglass
  • Stays flexible even after multiple heat cycles
  • Can withstand continuous heat of 1,200 degrees F
  • Made in the USA
