ProCharger Racers Win Titles And Set Records At Lights Out 16

Lights Out 16 brought all of the top radial tire races to South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP). If you wanted to see just how fast your program is, this was the event to come to. The racers who fly the ProCharger banner brought home plenty of hardware at Lights Out 16 and set records as well.

Ultra Street racer Chuck Bartholme brought his ProCharged Fox body to compete in a stacked field of talented racers. Bartholme’s Godzilla-powered Mustang ran a 4.431 at 158 mph at Lights Out thanks to his crank driven F-1A-94 ProCharger. That run was good enough to qualify number two in Ultra Street, and it set the supercharger class record as well.

Rob Golobo has been knocking on the door of a win in Limited Drag Radial and he finally got it at Lights Out. Golobo locked down the number four qualifying spot with a 3.884 run at 193 mph. After battling his way through eliminations, Golobo lined up his 2019 Corvette that wears a F-4X-140 ProCharger against fellow ProCharger racer, and 2024 LDR world champion Greg Blevins Jr. Golobo was able to pull off the holeshot win in the finals and ran a healthy 3.911 elapsed time at 191 mph.

If you’re looking for a great story behind a big win at Lights Out look no further than Rob Valden. After arriving late to SGMP for Lights Out, Valden proceeded to pick off car after car in the tough N/T 275 class. Before his final round matchup with NPK superstar Justin Swanstrom, Valden discovered an issue with his Camaro’s engine. A massive thrash was kicked off in the pits, and a borrowed cylinder head from John Ricca had to be used on Valden’s engine. The thrash was worth it because Valden’s ProCharged Camaro was able to defeat Swanstrom and win the N/T 275 class.

The headlining class for Lights Out 16 was Radial vs The World and a ProCharger racer was able to shine there as well. Ken Quartuccio owned the SGMP surface all week during Lights Out. Quartuccio’s Pro Line-powered Camaro that sports an F-4X-144 ProCharger qualified number one, and reset the radial tire doorslammer world record with a 3.473 at 212 mph. That wasn’t enough for Quartuccio. During eliminations, Quartuccio ripped off a series of impressive passes to win the Radial vs The World title at Lights Out 16.
