Radical LS-Powered Mustang With Eight Turbochargers

LS-swapped Mustangs are not an innovation anymore. Over the years, we have seen what seems like thousands of Mustang owners ditch the Ford powerplant in favor of the GM LS platform. Most die-hard Ford enthusiasts have a serious problem with these swaps, and one can argue that it’s a good move on several different levels. And while we have seen LS-powered Mustangs with turbos, we have never witnessed anything as crazy as Boosted Lifestyle’s project Mustang.

Kyle Williams, the self-proclaimed “Crazy Canadian,” is the Boosted Lifestyle YouTube channel owner. He decided to yank the single turbo off his stock block Mustang and replace it. And while most sane people would expect to see a set of twins, Williams had another idea. He swapped out the single for eight K03 China built turbos instead. “Why,” you ask? While we are not entirely sure, we figure that if one turbo is good, and it is, then eight must be great, especially if you have a YouTube Channel. Plus, Williams had experience with running multiple turbos on a Honda, so it just made sense.

Now, to be honest, we weren’t sure how this project was going to work out. After all, eight turbos do seem to be a little ridiculous, or does it? Much to our surprise, the Mustang not only ran, but it also had enough power to do a massive burnout and made boost doing it. After the smoke cleared, Williams was able to check out the Holley ECU logs to find that the turbo system was, in fact, making some steam. 10.3-pounds at 6,700 RPM, to be exact. Other than no alternator belt, the only problem was oil coming from the compressor side of a few of the turbos.

Williams has several videos leading up to the one we have linked at the top of this article, where he shows you the trials and tribulations he overcame to install all of the “turbskis.” His latest video, which features the installation of a Nitrous Express system, gives us a little more insight into his power goals with the octuple turbo system, which is 1,000 horsepower.

We are looking forward to the development of this wild combination over the next few months. If you want to follow along, be sure and subscribe to Boosted Lifestyle.
